Cameron Heads to Clearwater
Dustin Cameron
Dustin Cameron, a right-handed reliever who appeared in 11 games for New Jersey in 2009, had his contract purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies from the American Association’s Grand Prairie AirHogs on July 7. Cameron, currently in his sixth professional season, was recently assigned to the Advanced-A Clearwater Threshers in the Florida State League and has appeared in two games in his first affiliated action.
Seven Jackals’ alumni are currently active in affiliated baseball, including a pair at the major league level (A’s reliever Craig Breslow and Cardinals’ reliever Raul Valdes).
